Frederick de Wit- cartographer, antique maps -Born in 1616. De Wit became a famous map publisher, his atlases contained reprints of plates purchased from Blaeu and Jansson, as well as some original maps of very fine duality. All the antique maps have plain backs. Flederick de Wit died in 1689 and the business was carried on by his son, also named Frederick. He died in 1710. Their atlases date from c.1660. |
