John Ogilby

Born at Edinburgh in 1600 and a colourful character who, before he died at the age of 76, had been the owner of a theatre, a bookseller, a dancing master, a translater of the classics, a printer, and a famous mapmaker.

The Irish Rebellion in 1641, and the Fire of London twenty-five years later, caused him to lose all his money twice over.
