Thomas Kitchin

Thomas Kitchin was an engraver and publisher at The Star, opposite Ely Gate, Holborn, London.

Kitchin produced a series of plans, maps and charts, and also undertook other forms of engraving, including book-plates, cards, and similar work.

At his shop he also published books on painting and drawing, and supplied artist's materials.

Amongst the many maps he engraved of all parts of the world, Kitchin produced a very attractive set of detailed, quarto-sized county maps in 1764, each with a rococo cartouche. He died at St. Albans in June, 1784.
