Pierre Van Der AA

Born in 1659, he was a successful publisher of maps and atlases, and employed the finest engravers for his decorative maps and views.

His major work was the Galérie Agreable du Monde published in an impressive and comprehensive twenty-seven volumes and completed in 1729.

Although his maps are not important scientifically, their aesthetic appeal is considerable. His premises were in Leiden, he died in 1733.
