Vincenzo Valorisi

He published an edition of the maps of Ptolemy in Venice by him from 1561, which is particularly interesting because he introduced a set of modern maps of various parts of the world to the collection.

They have no decoration as is so often the case in Italian maps of the period, but they are far from dull as they are superbly engraved and of great beauty and interest.
